I was commissioned to work across two EBLN (East Bristol Liveable Neighbourhood ) sites, to work with local schools to develop the designs for hand painted pavement artwork outside their schools.
Site One - Briarwood / Barton Hill Infants

Engagement
Barton Hill Academy and Briarwood Infants are 2 adjacent schools that have connected buildings.
Lucy and I were commissioned to work with them to create separate designs that felt connected as the spaces were right next to each other.
At Barton Hill Academy, we delivered stamp making workshops with Year 5, imagining ways they wish they could travel to school.
At Briarwood Infants we delivered sensory workshops based on the book' ‘Wow said the Owl’.
These sessions directly informed the designs for the floor mural.

Some of the ways the children imagined they could travel to school; on a lion, magic carpet, flying on a bird, with a massive ice cream…

Other children are really enjoying them too. When I was entering the school last week, I saw some younger children running, jumping and playing hopscotch on the shapes, so it's made a real impact to a lot of the children!”
