Belmont Path Mural, Portsmouth 2022

Curated by Form + Function

Painted this huge mural in Southsea Portsmouth down a smelly old alleyway that had a bad rep with the locals. Now it’s a colourful blast of energy for everyone that walks past and couldn’t have had more compliments if I’d tried! One elderly lady said she used to feel unsafe walking down the Belmont Path and would avoid it, now she will walk down there on purpose!

Designs were inspired by collages made with local children from Cottage Grove primary school during workshops facilitated by artists Anna Potten and Clare Jefferson. A real treat to have such fantastic visuals to work from! Scroll down for more on design process.

Thanks to Form + Function for their seamless curation and Mernywernz for assisting and photos.
